FAQ
Helpful Information
How long does Microblading take?
The first Microblading treatment will take around 3 hours to complete. The touch-up which is required 4-6 weeks after the first appointment will take 1-2 hours depending on the retention of the pigment.
Is the touch-up always necessary?
Yes, the touch-up is needed so any minor adjustments can be made, to make sure the brow is flawless. Not every hair stroke will have taken and you will have had time to reflect on the healed colour, shape and volume.
How long does it last?
On average, the expected time before a colour refreshment is between 12-18 months, and around 9-12 months for oily skin.
The colour duration primarily depends on how oily your skin is. Sweating and sun exposure are also factors that reduce the colour retention.
What is the healing process like?
The healing is fully completed 28 days after the touch-up (which is an addition of the pigment that has been lost.) With problematic and oily skins, a couple correction appointments may be necessary. 70% of the treatment’s success is down to proper post-treatment care.
Is Microblading painful?
The level of pain felt depends entirely depends on the client's pain threshold and the client's skin type and other factors such as hormones and premenstrual cycle. Most clients liken to pain similar to plucking the eyebrows. Uncomfortable sensations may be felt for the first 'pass' then pain relief will be applied to the skin surface.
Is it suitable for everyone?
Unfortunately there are instances where microblading may not be possible. If you have certain medical conditions, skin diseases or irritation, allergies, or have had recent Botox injections, you won't qualify for the procedure. A consultation form will be provided prior to treatment to ascertain all of the above, and the treatment cannot be performed without the client's completed, signed consultation form.
Can you go over my previously microbladed brows?
In most cases it is possible to cover up previously microbladed eyebrows but not always. A consultation would be necessary before booking in to be able to asses the condition of the skin and the colour of the previous work. I would in most cases recommend manual shading along side the microblading. If your microblading has left any unwanted colour in the skin such a red tone, this is from poor quality pigment. This shouldn't happen and is why I only ever use Phibrows pigments; they are the best quality products on the market and are guaranteed not to change shade over time.
